Ph.D. Study Tour 2001

General information

Advanced education is an important part of the training of Ph.D. fellows of the graduate school VLAG. Therefore these Ph.D. fellows attend courses and congresses. Apart from that, every two years an international study tour is organised. The last visits were to the United States (1995), Scandinavia (1997) and South Africa (1999). The purposes of the study tour are:

• to broaden knowledge in the field of nutrition, health, and epidemiology;
• to exchange research results with scientists of foreign universities, research institutes and food industry;
• to build up international contacts.

From 11-21 September 2001 we visited Switzerland, Italy and Germany with 24 PhD fellows. During the Study Tour we met (young) researchers in the field of Nutrition, Health and Epidemiology.
